Material Selection 

Selecting the correct material is critical to product performance, reliability, and cost. We assist clients in selecting materials that meet mechanical requirements while accounting for service environment, manufacturing constraints, availability, and supply-chain risk.

Services include development and review of material specifications defining chemistry, mechanical properties, heat treatment, product form, testing, and acceptance criteria to reduce ambiguity and prevent non-conforming material from entering production.

We assist with interpretation of material requirements in drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and customer specifications, including identification of

conflicting or impractical callouts and clarification of technical intent.

Support also includes evaluation of material vendors and alternate materials, review of mill test reports, and verification of compliance with specified requirements. Material selection assistance is commonly provided for new product development, redesign, cost-reduction initiatives, supply-chain disruptions, and material compliance concerns.
